COG Nation,

Just talked to Rich Hall and Bernd at 3:30CT.  They had to stop in Norton, Kansas so Bernd could take a picture of the temperature reading 38 Celsius, or for you metric challenged that 100 degrees!!   Approximately, 250 mile from Lincoln.

I got this off of Gie's Blog...

Apparently, Kawasaki was generous to our OtP Traveler!!!!
See below...

Unfortunately the photo's won't open for me?
Can someone get them open and post them?

Ride safe, Ted

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Jim Shomaker (marketing) , Bernd, Gie, and Mike Boyle, manager of the plant.

Als we must also thank Scott Bauer, it took him two hours to show the plant and explain the production process.

But the best was at the end of the tour:

Kawasaki offered a new C-14 to use for the OTP trip !!!.
Here you can see Mike Boyle, plant manager, handing over the bike to Bernd.    :o

From now Bernd will be looking like this:    8)

Look at Bernd proud of his new bike.

Now we must try to fit it into the luggage on the way back to the EU

Here is the update fer now..

the plan:       Day #5
Tuesday, 2 August

Travelers ride to Kevin Cummings' home in Foley, MO.
Kevin Cummings to escort.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Just talked to Chris Baum.
Party at his place worked out great.
Approx 12 there. $$ were collected to assist Bernd/Gie on their ride.
NOTE: $$ were also collected at Ricks....

THIS IS A GREAT CLUB!!!!!   :feedback:

Per the Schedule: They left Chris home this AM with Kevin cummings acting as guide.
Chris rode with them for a time. Said they had to do a route change due to Floods in the River.
Had to ride into Kansas to get around the problem.....   :battle:

Gie is on Harry Van's bike. Bernd is on the C-14 that Kawasaki gave him to ride!!!!!

Chris is now home, thinks the Travelers will reach Kevins place sometimes soon.   :stirpot:

Plan is still on track!!! yahooooooooooooooooo

If anyone hears from them,, pass it to the rest of the group. (except for Harry)  <grin>

Ride safe, Ted

Received a note from Gie. They made it to Kevin Cummings' home in Foley, MO.
Had a fgood time at kevin's place. Apparently a little "COLD" beer was consumed to cool off from the hot day.   :chugbeer:

Gie said all is well and they are moving on to Murphs place today.

Ride safe, Ted

PS: If anyone has beentaking pictures of the "OtP" Travelers, please post a few so that we can see them.    :feedback:

I heard from Murph. All went well.
Murph sed he was on a 250...... Something about Dueling Banjo's in the trees and "going like heck".
Said as long as he was ahead of at least one,,, "he" wuzn't worried.

Hope they don't speak "pig" now.....   <evil grin>
     :yikes: :yikes:

They are headed for Crozet Virginia today to meet Bob Drombrowe and others. I think Guy and Rich might be there too.

More later.

Got this from Bob, but can't get &*&^$^&%&^*  photo to attach.

Also got a note from Arthur Boyd. He's headed to DC to meet Russel Fleming, (Last yers OtP Traveler) and Frank Hunt..
They and a few others will show Bernd and Gie DC...

Ride safe, Ted

Howdy all,
Gie and Bernd are on their way to Washington DC.  Left about 08:44 this morning and probably will get there about noon.  Temperatures have finally broken, only about 74 degrees here at the moment.  Looking like it might rain this afternoon.  They liked the Blue Ridge Parkway yesterday and but even better the twisities in West Virginia were more exciting.  We had a nice dinner last night.  They tried a local beer (they were Not riding anymore after this!).  Both bikes are running well.  Here's a pic of them leaving.  Take care.
Bob

Hope they enjoy DC.. The Air and Space is the FINEST!    :grouphug:

After DC, next stop is New York....
Patrick and Dennis will take over as the Hosts there..    :chugbeer:

Then they all go to Mt Snow!!!!!     :feedback:

Neither Guy or I could make it over to Crozet to see the boys, sorry, I had work issues and i believe Guy was frantically loading the Conni for the trip....
Some nasty weather up near DC today, hope the boys have a good time there and can get outta the rain a while, they will be in good hands with Russell I'm sure..... ;)
(he doesn't drink, so they may be forced to ride a lot..... 8)

Hi guys.  These are the only pix I took.  It is at the Royal Farms convience store in Clarksville MD.  we got heavy rain after this picture was taken at 6pm.  Toured DC with no rain.  Just traffic and lots of people.  I took them down a cobblestone street in Old Town Alexandria, VA.  We also used the GW Parkway to get there.  Travel safe!
