Post your light bar photos?
« on: February 07, 2012, 08:54:46 PM »
I just ordered a set of the Cree LED's. Not sure where I will be mounting them (fyi: I have no highway pegs or tip-over bars). So I would appreciate ideas where they might go. Also, if you guys have photos, that would be most appreciated. Thx!

Is that just bolted to the plastic Don, or is there something more structural under the headlight that it is attached to?

Geez Tod
I have had 14 bikes since that one and who know how many farkles
I am getting old and it's hard to remember
but I do know that it was not just anchored in the plastic. there was some other mounting thing. it seems to me it used the bolts that hold the brake lines under the front fairing.
I do remember one of the COG guys was making and selling the bracket so maybe someone else will chime in

Last time I tried to order from Buck, he took the dough, but never sent an email of any kind until I called him a couple weeks later, got vm, called a few days later, got vm, then finally after about 3 weeks, called again and he said he was too busy to make the part and refunded me. Not sure I want to go through that again.

Todd,

Check with snarf.  He makes a pair of brackets that attach to fairing where the mid and top meet.  Mounting the brackets utilizes the bolts already there and puts lights right in line where a light bar would.  No problem when taking off fairing either.

The light brackets that mount to the cowling using pre-existing holes as pictured above are made by forum member and friend to all SNARF contact him via PM sent him money and he will send you a set.

I like mine..... I lined the back side of mine with the soft half of velcro so that I would not worry about the brackets marking my paint.

Thanks Tcro. I contacted and paid Mr. Snarf. He is making mine close to the color of my bike, so that's cool.  Good idea about lining the back.
