temporary display malfunction today
« on: March 08, 2012, 09:34:01 PM »
I am on a 5 day trip, on the first gas stop when I restarted I got only 3/4s of my display, the left lower quadrant was stuck on the Kawi logo. I tried a quick restart but no change. It stayed that way for the next 170 miles. At the next gas stopped I shut off to get my camera out for a pic but when I restarted all was normal. With the left lower quadrant masked by the logo I could see everything but the first two digits of the odometers.

Yup, happened to me at 9,000 miles.  Took a picture and showed the dealer, they replaced the display under warranty.  Btw, you will have a new display with zero mile.

Oooooh, that could be expensive if you're out of warranty.  How many miles on yours, Lather?

I did hit some light rain. I have 70,000 miles but also have extended warranty. But... after another 700 miles the problem has not happened again. 175 miles of moderate rain today, temp high of 46ntghis morn. an that was high for the day, got down to 31, ran through some snow on the road near Comstock, TX. In Alpine tonite, low 29. And just heard 60 in MN! Crazy weather.
