Maynard Ferguson - passed about 10 years ago, but he made a career out of educating and showing just how it's done:

Been listening to some Redneck, White Trash, Blue Collar, Hillbilly Hick Hop. The lyrics play to folks like me.

Stumbled across this young lady and been enjoying her music lately too. The way she looks and talks are nothing like the way you would expect her to sing.

Last week my wife and I were camping up in Door County Wisconsin. We heard an ad on a local radio station about the free Concert In The Park series at Martin Park in Sturgeon Bay.

Head East was playing! We both love that band so we grabbed our lawn chairs and off we went.

I'll tell you what, Head East STILL has it! Wow! What a show!!! They still have some original band member(s) and the lead singer, Darren Walker, can belt it out and can still hit those high notes with ease. How many old rockers can still say that? VERY few.

Head East likes to crank it up and they certainly did that. The first kick of the bass drum felt like someone thumping on my chest! There was a group of 'older' folks sitting in front of us and they got up and left half way through the first song cuz the music was too loud.

Too loud? It was just right and there was only around 200 people there in the park.

Lots of folks were up and dancing, us included. But when they played Never Been Any Reason almost everyone was up in front moving and grooving. There were more folks dancing than not. It was great!

If you get a chance to see Head East I highly recommend it!

Turn up those speakers and enjoy!!!

Head East gets overplayed way too much here in STL as they are from not too far from here. Never Been Any Reason got extensive airplay on KSHE in 74 before A&M records signed them. They still are played a lot here.

Trivia note...the picture of the band on the back cover was taken at the RiteWay diner in Olivette, MO a suburb of STL.

WTF? You venture out of the Arena to diss my post about seeing Head East?

On the plus side, your writing skills seem to improve once you're outside of the Arena.

I just had to point this album to Rick, so he could enjoy it...

luv the man,
and the music....

better than Cheerio's...

oh, and I have a couple (I carried every Z album I had, to every concert, to get them signed...)
of Rare, Z vinyl sets, for trade and or sale... (bought doubles).. I think
a rare signed 'shut up, and play yer guitar', mega (multi record) set, made when the album was cut,  but held, and released about 5 years after mine was handed to me, again signed.. (with a date), sealed, and stored...) might just interest someone.

start the bidding?
just kidding.
