I am looking at the various ways to install a USB port on my 2009.  Does anyone make an USB  outlet that fits in place of the stock 12v outlet on the dash?

Seems like a nice clean way to install one without having a dangling cord or drilling a hole into any plastic.

EDIT...Thanks for the link to the blue sea systems plug, that was exactly what was needed.
A trip to the local Cabelas and $23 later I have a clean install.  If you decide to do this you will need to make a couple pig tails out of some spade connectors for the plug and bullet connectors to hook into the factory wiring that was previously plugged into your power socket.

The blue sea systems plug is just a hair too big to fit into the hole already in the dash.  About 20 seconds with a dremel tool was all it took to to open it up enough for the plug.

Thanks again for the link.

Or go to Google and type this in "cigarette lighter usb adapter"  : literally hundreds of them available. I do not think any of them will be waterproof though. For that (waterproof) there are motorcycle specific units that have a short female whip with a cover on the end.

I do not want an adapter. I want to remove what is there and replace it with something that will fit in the factory hole but be a USB port

Oh.... then no, not that I know of. There are panel mounted USB power ports and you may get lucky and find one that fits in the hole left by the cigarette lighter socket but I am not aware of anyone having done this. Perhaps another way to go would be to drill a hole somewhere else on the bike and use a USB panel mount power supply? It seems quite a few people do this and I think an easy place to mount it would be in one of the black fairing covers, just under the handlebar grips. Just a thought.

I know it's not what you want, but this is what I use. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0042B9U8Q/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Also by using an adapter, it will allow you to revert back as needed for some other device that needs the original 12v socket.

The Blue Seas USB plug should be extremely close to a drop in if it isn't an exact fit. There are dimensioned drawings on their website.

Check out the posting by "SVonhof" (13th post down). He has a 2009 as well.
Very clean install and it looks water resistant, if not waterproof.
